Project Lighthouse
Starting June 19th, “Project Lighthouse” will begin. The town would like to notify all residents and visitors that the construction will start this afternoon.
Contractors with Heavy Equipment will be there and want to remind you all to be careful while in the area, the painting will begin today and continue for the next few weeks.

Project Lighthouse Enhancement
There are a lot of exciting things ahead for our town and with Project Lighthouse Enhancement accepted.
We would also like to announce that we have accepted funding for The Town of Hearts Content from Veteran Affairs Canada to construct our own War Memorial.
With the funding we will be able to provide another focal point in our community to honour Our Veterans.
We will keep you updated as the memorial progresses through this year.

Bell Community Notification- for a 50m Radio Tower.
The new Bell Tower will be located on Route 80, Hearts Content.

Important step made in efforts to gain UNESCO World Heritage Status for Valentia
An important step has been made in efforts to secure UNESCO World Heritage status for Valentia Island.
The 19th century construction of the transatlantic cable between Valentia and Heart’s Content in Newfoundland, Canada was ground-breaking in the history of global communications.
On a visit to Valentia, the Minister of Tourism and Culture for Newfoundland and Labrador signed a memorandum of understanding with Irish representatives including Kerry County Council.
